Meet Sheri Davino: From Professional Musician to Second-Generation Realtor
For Sheri Davino, real estate runs in the family. Growing up in New York, Sheri watched her mother build a career as a Realtor and Broker. She initially earned her own real estate license in New York to help her mom, but after moving to Kentucky, real estate eventually became a career of her own.
Sheri took some time after the move to get to know Louisville and the surrounding communities before earning her Kentucky real estate license. She's now been a Kentucky Realtor for eight years and recently added an Indiana real estate license, allowing her to help clients on both sides of the river.
But before houses and home inspections, Sheri had a very different career.
She was a professional flutist.
That background may seem worlds apart from real estate, but Sheri sees a lot of similarities between the two.
"When training to be a musician, you are constantly striving to improve and perform to the best of your ability," Sheri says. "I feel like real estate is similar. What you put into it is exactly what you get out of it."
That dedication, along with the attention to detail developed through years of classical music training, is something Sheri brings to every client and transaction.
Finding Her Home at Nest
Sheri was with another brokerage when a transaction introduced her to a Nest agent. After having a great experience working across the table from Nest, she spoke with the owners and quickly realized it was the right place for her.
"Making the move was an easy choice for me."
Today, one of Sheri's favorite things about real estate is that no two days are alike. Every client, home, and transaction brings something different.
Through all of those differences, her approach remains the same: make sure her clients know she's working for them, she's in their corner, and they can trust her throughout the process.
And as a native New Yorker, Sheri isn't afraid to tell it like it is.
She describes herself as straightforward and honest, two qualities her clients can count on when making important decisions about buying or selling a home.
For first-time buyers, her first piece of advice is practical: Talk with a mortgage professional and get pre-approved before beginning your home search.
Beyond Real Estate
When Sheri isn't working with clients, you'll find her traveling, playing music, crafting, entertaining, or spending time with her family.
She's also quite the traveler. Sheri has visited an impressive 45 states, including Alaska, where she went dog sledding. Her bucket-list goal is to make it to the remaining five states and officially say she's seen all 50.
Outside the U.S., Italy is her favorite place to travel.
Given her musical background, it probably isn't surprising that if Sheri could have dinner with anyone in history, she'd choose Mozart or Beethoven. And when she has some downtime, one of her favorite books is The Celestine Prophecy.
From her New York roots and classical music career to helping clients throughout Kentucky and Indiana, Sheri brings experience, discipline, honesty, and a little creativity to everything she does.
As a second-generation Realtor, Sheri knows the importance of having someone you trust in your corner, and she's ready to help her clients find their Home Key!
